Useful To Knows

  1. What time is check-in and check-out?

    Check-in time is from 4pm and check-out time is 11am.

    On your day of departure please vacate your room on time and settle your extras account at reception. If you want to stay a bit later, please ask at reception (subject to availability) and we will do our best to accommodate you.

  2. Do you take a deposit on check in?

    On check in we will pre-authorise a card to the value of £50 for a single night stay and £100 for multiple nights.

  3. Is there a car park on-site?

    Yes, we have ample free parking on site.

  4. Is there a dress code at the hotel or in the restaurants?

    We do not have a strict dress code and are informal in style. When dining in our brasserie 1772 or Yu, many guests choose to dress up a bit, but we will leave that up to you.

  5. Do you have a spa on-site?

    Yes, we have a spa with an indoor vitality pool, heated outdoor pool, state-of-the-art gym, sauna, steam room and treatment rooms.

  6. Do we accept dogs?

    Well behaved dogs over the age of one are very welcome at The Retreat.

    We have several dog friendly rooms on the ground floor with outside terrace access. There is a £30 per night charge per dog. A maximum of 2 dogs per room. We provide a dog welcome pack on arrival. No dogs can be left in the room unattended.

    You can dine with your dog in the Atlas Room or Orangery for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner as well as the outside terrace when the weather is fine. We do not allow dogs in the 1772 Brasserie or Yu Pan-Asian Restaurant.

  7. Can children use the pools?

    Younger guests can use our heated outdoor pool between 9-10am and 3-5pm Monday to Friday, and 10-12am and 3-5pm Saturday and Sunday. The indoor hydrotherapy pool is for guests 16 and older.


  8. Do you have electric car charging points?

    We have two charging points. These are available on a first come first served basis.

  9. What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

    Flexible Cancellation - Credit Card required to guarantee your reservation. We are holding the reservation on a guaranteed basis. In case of cancellation please contact the hotel before 2.00pm local time 72 hours prior to the arrival date to avoid any cancellation or no show charges equivalent to the rate on the first night plus taxes.

    Restaurant cancellations - Credit cards are requested to confirm your booking in the restaurant (unless staying with us). In the event you need to modify or cancel your booking please send an email to

    In the event of a no-show or cancellation within 24 hours we reserve the right to charge £10 per person.

  10. Babysitting

    Unfortunately we are currently unable to provide babysitting services until further notice.

  11. Currency

    We are a cashless business, so regrettably we are unable to change currency at the hotel directly.
